the name

Why “SuperCombinator”?

-- supercombinator: no free variables
sc = λx y → x + y

-- self-contained, so it can be
-- named, lifted and composed

In lambda calculus, a supercombinator is a function that depends on nothing outside itself. It can be named, lifted to the top level and combined with others. We like that as a model for a deal: complete on its own terms, and built to combine.

SuperCombinator LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Y Combinator.
